Zines

Zines (pronounced zeens) are independently produced, independently published magazines that allow us to share information about our projects, practices, and theories, as well as stories, art, and entertainment with the world. Because zines are inherently independent, they are free from the manipulation of corporate goals and can say whatever they want. Zines espouse a radical DIY philosophy and encourage the dissemination of skills and ideas that oppose the corporate-controlled, mass-produced homogenization of mainstream culture. Instead of mindlessly consuming mass-produced entertainment that is saturated with pro-corporate and pro-consumerist values, we can instead produce our own entertainment, our own culture, in a way that allows for individual free expression and the free communication of ideas and skills.

Below you will find downloads for various full-sized and mini-zines. You are free to use and distribute these however you like for any non-commercial purpose. All zines are produced by members of the Southside Permaculture Park and the Burbage Institute of Art and Design, unless otherwise noted.

Mini-Zines:

Mini-zines are printed on one sheet of paper with one small slit cut in the center, then folded into a 4-page zine.
